I uploaded a video to TikTok yesterday morning and 24 hours later it has had 29,600 views, 1,421 likes, 221 comments, and 182 shares.
By any metric that is an excellent return on the piece of content.
It is a video about a judge threatening to jail a father over his failure to pay child maintenance and the arrears that had accumulated.
But the content and subject matter of the video are not the point of this blog post. The power of TikTok is the reason for writing this article.
This type of performance and return on publishing a video on TikTok is not commonplace or every day. But it happens quite frequently, and far more often than on any other social media platform.
Any small business owner who is serious about marketing their business or brand is making a tremendous mistake if she ignores TikTok. And I do not accept the excuse that their particular product or service is not suitable for TikTok.
It can be made suitable with a little bit of creative, smart thinking. So, get your thinking hat on if you want to tap into the power of TikTok.
