Seeking support for my YouTube channel (still on the fence)

I have been thinking for a little while about setting up a “BuyMeACoffee” for my YouTube channel.

This service is similar to the Patreon service to seek support for your YouTube channel, but I think the big difference-I may be wrong-is that the “BuyMeACoffee” system is entirely voluntary. In other words, whether you buy me a coffee or not-that is, make a contribution-you still have access to all my videos on my YouTube channel.

What I like about it is if you want to support my work on my YouTube channel you can. And if you don’t want to, that’s fine too.

I have one impediment to doing it, however, and that is I have never sought support or payment in the past. The whole idea of the channel was to allow me demonstrate expertise, build trust, generate leads, and ultimately clients.

But there may be a cohort of people out there who will never become my client for all sorts of reasons but would be happy to support the channel to see it continue and grow on the basis that it provides a useful service.

I am still on the fence but will consider it a little further and am edging in that direction. I can always abandon it if I am not happy.

And, at the end of the day, it is entirely voluntary.
