Video is one of the most powerful tools in my business.
I have written many times about the value of my YouTube channel and the significant contribution to the growth of my solicitor’s practice.
I’m surprised more small business owners don’t avail of this powerful tool. But I recognise one of the difficulties is the perception of difficulty involved in making videos with a camera and setting up a YouTube channel.
There is an easier way, however. And it comes from the opportunities presented by sites like TikTok and Instagram.
Vertical videos.
Vertical videos can be easily made on your mobile phone. And they are ideal for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube shorts.
When I started my YouTube channel in 2010 or 2011 I do not think Instagram or TikTok existed. But these platforms have changed the video game and have forced YouTube to introduce YouTube shorts.
YouTube shorts are short, vertical videos which you can make on your phone and upload directly to YouTube. I think the maximum length is one minute.
And the same video can be used on the other platforms including TikTok and Instagram.
This is the easiest way nowadays to build a tribe, fan base. If you have a small business or want to build your personal brand the opportunity is staring you in the face.
