I reached 35,000 YouTube subscribers over the weekend.
This is a metric that I keep a close eye on, and I admit to taking some pride in reaching this figure.
Leaving aside the pride, however, my YouTube channel has played such a pivotal role in the growth of my solicitor’s practice and my personal brand that my closing monitoring of the channel is understandable.
I have plans for the future of the channel but they involve doing more of the same but a little bit better.
I want to stay on the same broad strategy but I also want to make as many small, incremental improvements as I can so that each video or tranche of videos is a little better than the previous ones.
This may be from the perspective of content or audio quality or videography.
There are a few things I need to guard against, and I am well aware of them. For example, my habit of repeating myself to make a point in the video I am making.
My plans for the future involve
- Better video quality from a videography/cinematography point of view
- More voiceover videos with B roll
- Tighter videos in terms of script and content with less repetition and rambling
Although I do not want the videos to become too sterile-I still reserve the right to ramble every now and then, perhaps in a vlog.
(By the way, I shoot all the videos myself and do my own editing etc.)
