First physical WRC hearing since Covid 19 struck

I am off to my first physical WRC hearing in something like three years today. Since Covid 19 struck the island of Ireland all the WRC hearings have been virtual and online.

Leaving the office for a half or full day is a bit of a pain, to be honest. The hearing is in Carlow so probably 3 or 4 hours of my day will be spent travelling.

It’s not ideal but I guess it will be no harm to get out of the office and get the opportunity to present my client’s case in an environment where the adjudicator and witnesses are physically proximate.

The timing is not great, however, as we are approaching the May bank holiday weekend and the pressure is on to complete property transactions. This is particularly difficult when you are not in the office to carry out certain tasks-for example, transfer funds, check bank accounts, deal with last minute queries or hitches.

C’est la vie.

P.S. I have very little time this morning to be writing here but I am determined that my commitment to write a blog post on this blog will be respected.
