Storytelling-the final part in the communication jigsaw

The final part in the jigsaw of superb communication is storytelling.

Remember, communication starts with a paradigm shift of recognising that communication is not about what you want to say, but about what your audience, no matter how large or small, needs to hear.

To ascertain what they need to hear you engage in active, not passive, listening. This involves listening not just to the words and with the ears but listening with the eyes.

Watching the face, eyes, expression of the audience.

The final part is the use of story to communicate your message. We are all predisposed to listen to story from an early age.

Story is a tremendously effective way to communicate what you need.
