Leaving Leipzig this morning, need to get an early train (6 am) from the main train station back to Berlin, and onward to Ireland.
Did a walking tour of Leipzig yesterday which touched on the historical development of Leipzig. Would always recommend this type of tour in any European city, provided the tour guide knows her stuff.
Our man from Slovenia was excellent and the story of Leipzig going back centuries right up to 1989 when the Berlin wall came down, in no small part due to protests started in Leipzig in September and October 1989, and to the present day is fascinating.
And most importantly Emily, our daughter, loves it here and is evidently happy with the city.
