Hypocrisy and Mick Wallace are bedfellows for years

I see that Mick Wallace and Clare Daly have voted against a European Parliament resolution condemning the escalation of Russia’s violent actions in Ukraine.

It is hard to believe that they are not simply being consistent in opposing the widely accepted, orthodox viewpoint and are simply doing what they have done for years-that is, seeking attention and headlines.

Many believe that if the entire world supported Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, then Daly and Wallace would oppose it. It is simply how they roll.

Remember Mick Wallace being rolled out for years on RTE Radio 1 as the concerned voice of the working man and woman, the champion of the left, on radio chat shows on a Saturday and Sunday morning.

Whilst at the same time overseeing and guiding a construction company that was prosecuted and convicted for failing to pay the necessary sums into his employees’ pensions on time. In fact, Wallace was fined was fined €7,000 for not paying his construction workers’ pension contributions on time.

Wallace was also disqualified from being a company director arising from his stewardship of his construction company, M.J. Wallace. The High Court found that he had been engaged in a fraud on the Revenue:

The judge said the primary reason for disqualification was the under-declaration of some €1.4m VAT by the company to the Revenue between 2008 and 2010 which was “deliberate and systemic” and amounted to a “fraud on the Revenue”.

Hypocrisy and Mick Wallace are close bedfellows for years.
