I must admit I am intrigued by bubble tea.
I have no idea what it is, or what it tastes or looks like, or how it is made. But in Dublin yesterday evening and in Leipzig last weekend, I could not fail to notice the proliferation of bubble tea (and waffle) shops.
Walking yesterday evening from the quays out to Portobello to see my daughter, Lisa, doing her first promoted gig in the Lower Deck (Bello Bar) every third shop appeared to be a bubble tea shop.
Is it a fad? Will it blow over? Where has it come from? What country or culture? I have no idea.
But I am determined to see for myself what has caused this growth. Looking forward to it, actually.
