YouTube membership-in two minds

I have a regular internal debate about creating a YouTube membership scheme.

This would allow me to obtain support for my YouTube channel from my subscribers  and anyone else who cares to support the channel.

To be frank, I don’t need the money.

But there is a particular video I have made which will be of great interest to a certain section of my subscribers and which may wind up other subscribers.

This type of video, which could form part of a short series on that particular topic, could be made available to members only. This would allow those interested in the topic to pay to see it, and the other videos in the series, and those who may be wound up about it would not have to bother their little heads.

I might run a poll or something and see what my subscribers think about it and about membership.

I have always been instinctively inclined to give everything away for free and reap the benefit of reaching the largest possible audience.

That is probably how I am still leaning but who knows?
