Joe Deasy, a 21 year old man who had returned to Mayo on his holidays as he did every year, was found dead on the side of the road on 12th August 2017.
He had strong family connections to Mayo and was an ardent follower of Mayo GAA.
He also returned to Mayo every year for his holidays and was socialising with others on the night of his death.
He was found to have died as a result of blunt force trauma near a house in Swinford, Mayo.
Remarkably, nobody has been charged with an offence arising from this death.
And his family are naturally enduring a massive amount of pain since the day of his death.
They have a campaign, “Justice for Joe”, by which they hope to see the culprit or culprits brought to justice.
