If the Irish Trump cheerleaders and fans understood the potential damage to their lives which will be caused by Trump’s tariffs they might change their tune.
The tariffs being considered by Trump and his team for Ireland, if his Trade Secretary is to be taken seriously, will cause seismic harm to Ireland’s economy.
This will be felt in jobs, taxes, social welfare and right across Irish society.
But the cheerleaders have no clue. They have never seen really bad times in the Irish economy, for example in the 1980s.
And so they will cheer Trump while he introduces tariffs that will change their lives.
