It’s shocking to think that an economically illiterate buffoon can cause such fears for the economy on a worldwide basis, arising from his fetish for tariffs and what “The Wall Street Journal” has described as the “dumbest trade war ever.”
There is not a serious economist anywhere who thinks what Trump is doing is sensible or will achieve whatever confused, garbled aims he has (if any).
The fallout will be felt in Ireland soon, unfortunately. Speculation as the effects has been wild and probably inaccurate.
But the uncertainty is a well-known problem and enemy for economies and stock markets.
