It is tremendously heartening to see the failure of Trump endorsed candidates in the midterm elections in the United States.
“Victory has many fathers; failure is an orphan” is an apposite truism at this point in time.
The fallout and criticism of Trump in the traditional media, social media, and-dare I say it-the Republican Party is something beautiful to behold. And Trump, predictably, like the narcissistic, immature child he is turns on Ron DeSantis who had a massive victory in Florida and appears to offer a significant threat to Trump to be the Republican Party candidate in the next Presidential election.
Trump described DeSantis as “an average politician” within 48 hours of the election results and chatter about DeSantis being “Trump with a brain” and threatening to become the de facto leader of the Republican Party.
It will be a pleasure to continue to watch the Trump meltdown and the breakdown of an irrational, narcissistic ego over the next two years. It has been a long time coming.
Reasonable, rational folk who place great reliance on things like decency, dignity, democracy, civil liberties, helping those less fortunate, respect for women, for foreigners, for Mexicans, for those different from us will be silently cheerleading from the sidelines.
Bring it on. We’re ready.
