A commenter on one of my Facebook pages, underneath a post and video, dealing with the Enoch Burke case asked me what my view of the situation was.
I had published a video about Burke being released and relied on the reporting in some of the major newspapers such as the Irish Times and The Examiner.
The commenter said she could read the papers herself and wanted to know what I thought.
I can understand her position and question. However, I would give two reasons as to why I only report the commentary from the newspapers at this stage:
- The matter is still sub judice and I am not prepared to allow anyone involved in the dispute accuse me of prejudicing or harming their position. Remember that there is still a workplace disciplinary process to be concluded, along with at least two High Court legal proceedings
- Unlike the commenter who may read the newspapers many people do not read the newspapers nowadays and get most or all of their news online from social media sites such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok etc.
I look forward to being able to give my view, and I have a strong view on this matter.
But now is not the time.
Not yet.
