The enduring Irish fascination with property explains the success of this video about discovery

I make a wide variety of videos for my YouTube channel, and social medial generally.

I can usually predict with some degree of accuracy how a video will perform-that is, will it be popular, will it generate comments and engagement etc.

Often, however, a video dealing with what I view as a relatively obscure legal issue will outperform all expectations.

One such video is one I published this week about a dispute in the Magnier farm purchase case about discovery and what was (and was not) captured by the discovery order made as part of the lead up to the trial.

I did not expect this video to perform well, but an interesting legal point was worth a look, I thought. And, at a minimum, the video would appeal to law students and practitioners.

But the video has proved to be one of the most popular videos I have made in months.

And I can only conclude it is because it involves John Magnier, property, a property deal, when is a contract enforceable, and so on.

You can take a look at it here.
