A commenter on my YouTube channel left a comment in which he set out what he believed would be a sensible solution to bring the Enoch Burke/Wilson’s Hospital School dispute to an end.
He said the school should reinstate the former employee in his teaching post.
It is hard to believe that anyone with even a passing acquaintance with employment law would suggest such an outcome was feasible.
Even a person with no knowledge of employment law ought to be able to figure out that this relationship is over, and reinstatement is unlikely.
What employer would spend the best part of two years in the High Court and in excess of €100,000 (at a conservative estimate) and then decide the best course of action was to reinstate the employee?
It seems unlikely to me, anyway.
What do you think?
