We flew into Brindisi yesterday, then travelled on to Lecce in the Puglia region of Italy.
If you see Italy shaped like a boot then Puglia is the heel region.
Lecce is a small city, easy to navigate and is physically extremely pretty.
Walking around the streets on Saturday afternoon was a strange but beautiful experience as it was eerily quiet compared to any city you can think of on a Saturday afternoon.
It was as if everyone was gone on a siesta and gave you the impression of going back decades in time.
