We were away for a couple of days in Cork in the last few days. As much as I am committed to, and reliant on, my daily routine I believe there is an important benefit of being taken out of your regular routine, your accustomed course.
What happens is you notice that your world, or your business, does not fall apart by reasons of my failing to do what I regularly do on a daily basis.
In fact, it is almost certain that there is no noticeable impact on my life or business, save for the benefit of being able to take a more detached, objective view of what forms my daily routine. And then being able to see how important, or otherwise, the actions are.
Leaving your routine, therefore, is a useful thing to do from time to time. Being physically removed from your usual environment is beneficial, too.
It allows an important mental reset to happen. I have to admit guilt in not doing it often enough. Hopefully with the Covid 19 situation having settled down, and normal travel possible again, this departure from my routine is something I should be doing much more frequently.
