Is the extra reach of topical videos worth it?

I need to decide whether the useful idiots who populate the comments of my YouTube channel on videos about topical issues are worth it or not.

On the one hand the massive avalanche of comments on a video I made recently about Philip Dwyer, self-styled citizen journalist and anti-immigration activist, shows YouTube’s algorithm a great deal of engagement with positive consequences for my videos and channel.

On the other hand, whether any of these people will ever become a client or do anything for my business is highly questionable.

There is no doubt that the type of reach that such a video generates is far in excess of a video I might make about a particular legal topic or case.

Whether that reach is any use to me or not is something I cannot make my mind up about, for now.
