I have a RTB (Residential Tenancies Board) hearing this morning with one of my own tenants.
I had a previous hearing with this tenant and he went in and told the adjudicator that I was the best landlord he ever had and he would bring the rent up to date.
I was persuaded to accept this as a settlement of the matter, and he brought the rent up to date. No sooner did he do this than he stopped paying the rent again.
And he has not paid since.
I won’t be fooled or soft soaped this time. This time I want my property back in my possession.
And I have followed all of the steps prescribed by the law. I am entitled to possession.
That’s not to say that I won’t have to bring this guy to the District Court to ultimately get possession. I probably will.
But I will do it. And I will pursue him for every cent. Whether I get it or not remains to be seen.
