I shot this video on my lunchbreak down the Royal Canal and it blew up

I have tried all sorts of things to grow my YouTube channel.

By “all sorts of things” I mean, of course, I have published a wide range of videos which differ as to

  • Length
  • Subject matter
  • Point of view

Some of my experiments have worked, most have failed.

A spectacular success, however, has been a recent foray into the subject of horse racing.

I made a video a few weeks ago about Aidan O’Brian and his faith in the racehorse, City of Troy. And the video blew up quickly with a huge increase on my usual viewing numbers and new subscribers.

I published it on 23rd May and now (3rd June) it has over 14,000 views and has brought in 60 new subscribers.

I tried the same thing 2 days ago by making this video about the Epsom Derby and City of Troy’s win and it is blowing up in a similar fashion with over 5,000 views after a couple of days.

I would never have discovered this potentially rich seam for new viewers and subscribers had I not just published the first video which was shot during my lunch break down the Royal Canal bank in Enfield one day.
