I was in Galway last weekend for a couple of nights over the bank holiday weekend.
And, as usual, I was recognised by a couple of guys who welcomed me to Galway and told me they enjoyed my YouTube channel and that they were subscribers.
The two meetings were on different days and with unrelated individuals.
This is typical now and has been for some time.
I have been recognised at Dublin airport going on my holidays and even on my holidays in places like Italy.
It is flattering, to be quite honest, that my work over so many years of building my brand and online presence is being recognised and has paid off.
I started my YouTube channel in 2010 or 2011 so I am not claiming overnight success, or anything like that.
But for a solicitor of all people, not in the full flush of youth, to be recognised by so many young people when I am out and about is an unusual and unanticipated occurrence. And one I never thought about at the outset when I started the channel and began, inadvertently, building my brand online.
I will take it, however. The only thing worse than being recognised is nobody knowing who the hell you are.
