I am attending a WRC mediation meeting today at Lansdowne House, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4.
My experience of mediations in the past is that only a small number are successful.
So much so that you would question the value of such attempts to settle given that I will be gone from the office for most of the day due to the travelling involved.
Nevertheless, it is about the client and what he/she wants to do.
And if there is a possibility of a mediated outcome to a dispute that may be causing the client much stress and anxiety then we have to give it a go.
Often, however, there is a sense of going through the motions.
Let’s wait and see and hope for the best.
