The times of greatest vulnerability when it comes to keeping my daily writing streak going (started in January 2022) is when I depart from my usual daily routine.
Yesterday was such a day as we had a wedding in the family and were away for the night last night and this morning. It would be easy to rely on this to explain a slip or failure to show up and write this blog post.
But when you are aware of the risk, and I am from a few previous occasions when I was away for the weekend, it is a little easier to deal with it.
The easiest way to ensure the run continues, and the commitment to myself is fulfilled, is to do the blog post when I get home before I forget. And that is what I am doing now.
Some days I have to just write for writing’s sake, grind it out. Today is such a day.
