I am listening to a good podcast at the moment called “The Class of ‘88”, narrated by Will Smith.
It charts the start of rap/hip hop from 1988 and the personalities who created a new musical genre and industry.
Will Smith himself started out as a rapper and his background, together with the guests he interviews for this podcast series, gives the podcast series a sense of authenticity and history.
I love rap music and am fascinated with the history, the stories, the beat, the lyrics, the djs and MCs.
I’m looking forward to the rest of the series and getting a better handle on how rap evolved to where it is today.
