The brutal influence of your news sources

It is easy to underestimate how the news and media sources you consume influence and determine your view of the world.

The problem nowadays is there are so many from which to choose, with wildly varying degrees of inaccuracy and misinformation.

I noticed it in my own world in the coverage coming up to the US Presidential election.

I hate trump and the news sources and YouTube channels I gravitated towards were those with a similar view.

And guess what? They told me what I wanted to hear.

But it was not accurate, so much so that the shock of the convicted charlatan being elected to the White House left me with a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach all morning as the results came in.

Maybe someday something good will come from this. But at the moment it is hard to see it.
