Speeding and road deaths

There has been a shocking spate of road traffic accidents in the last few weeks, including two in Tipperary.

One of the young girls who lost her life with two friends on the day her Leaving Cert results came out was buried yesterday. It was terribly sad. She had just learned that day that she had achieved 531 points in the leaving cert and she thought it was a mistake.

She thought she had logged into someone else’s account by mistake.

I have no idea why these accidents are occurring. But speed must be a factor.

This morning I am driving to work at 80 miles per hour, the speed limit, as I do every morning. And traffic coming from Mullingar and further west pass me in the dark as if I am stopped dead.

Will we ever learn?
