Self-awareness-a valuable skill in self-management

Being aware of your strengths and weaknesses is vital if you are concerned about being a good manager.

For you need to be able to manage yourself first before you can manage others.

And to manage yourself you need to be able to identify your strengths and weaknesses.

This will allow you to double down on your strengths and consider dealing with your weaknesses in another way.

Recognising your strengths can be difficult, however. Many people are unaware of their strengths as they take for granted the things which come easy to them.

One of the best ways to identify your strengths is to recognise your weaknesses first.

An excellent way to do this is to keep a journal and write stuff down. Every day write down what has gone well and what has gone badly or not so well.

Soon a pattern will develop. This will allow you identify your strengths and weaknesses.

Then dedicated your time, focus and resources on your strengths. This is the best way to ensure you reach excellence in your performance.
