If you want to read a series of great stories consider reading Robert Galbraith’s Cormoran Strike series of books.
I have just finished the second one, “Silkworm”, and they are superbly crafted, intricate, well plotted stories.
J.K. Rowling is Robert Galbraith, and it should not surprise that she is a superb storyteller.
Cormoran Strike is a private detective from Cornwall, living and working in London.
The books are intricately plotted, the characters are credible and real, and there is developing love interest for Strike, too.
This is not literature in the same way that Steinbeck’s “East of Eden” and “The Grapes of Wrath” is. And I will go back now to Steinbeck for a break from Strike and to savour the beauty of Steinbeck’s writing.
But as soon as I have done that I will be back for book number 3 in the Cormoran Strike series.
Try one and see if you are not hooked. Here is book number 1 in the series, “The Cuckoo’s Calling”.
