Becoming a grandfather and changing the culture

When you become a grandfather, as I have done in the last few weeks, you begin to see the world in a slightly different way.

You begin to think about what Ireland (and the world) will be like much further into the future, when I have passed away.

And you begin to think that you have a responsibility to do what you can to ensure a better, kinder place than it is now.

Anything I can do to change the culture, even if only by persuading a very small number of people, is a responsibility that I probably need to bear.

This will have to become a consideration in the spheres of activity that I can influence-for example on my YouTube channel.

I need to consider the culture and changing it for the better, even if only on an infeasibly small scale, when I can bring any influence to bear.
