Anyone with basic negotiation skills almost certainly take them for granted.
They have acquired them over the years and may even have honed the skills through study and frequent use, depending on their work or job or through buying and selling cars or houses or whatever.
After a while, they take them for granted. And you can let them loose and ask them to negotiate something on your behalf.
This is incredibly useful in the legal profession.
But there are many people who have no negotiation skills.
They never learned how to negotiate, never found themselves in a situation where negotiations were necessary on a repeated basis.
If you have negotiation skills, consider yourself one of the luck ones. Because the ability to negotiate is an underrated but tremendously valuable skill.
