Making videos and publishing them on YouTube, and then distributing them widely on other social media platforms, forms a seminal plank in my marketing strategy for my business.
One thing I need to guard against, however, is making videos that might be popular or topical or controversial but ultimately are not much good for my business and will not bring clients.
Yes, I can make such videos as a hobby and to have my voice heard. But I need to distinguish that type of video as opposed to one which will bring clients.
The latter video may be far less popular, have less engagement, less views, bring in fewer subscribers. But will be better for the growth of my business than one which gets massive engagement and views.
As long as I can distinguish between the two types of video, and my motivation for each, I will not be making the mistake of drinking my own Kool Aid.
