I availed of the DJI insurance scheme last week and have been bowled over by the service from DJI.
The first drone I bought was lost in the river Boyne in December 2022.
When I bought a replacement, I also availed of the DJI insurance cover scheme. This gives me two replacement drones in a 12-month period on the payment of a small sum (€49).
I recently tipped a tree down around the church in Broadford and when I found my drone in the wood, I discovered one of the arms was cracked and broken.
I repaired it with Superglue, and it did the trick.
But always in the back of my mind there was some little fear gnawing away telling me the drone was noisier than usual and perhaps was not as tightly controlled.
I decide to avail of the insurance scheme to try to get a replacement from DJI. If nothing else, I was going to find out how easy or difficult it would be to get a replacement. What is the point of having insurance if you are going to carry out dodgy repairs yourself with Superglue?
It was no problem at all, and no questions were asked.
I was sent a new replacement drone by courier/post and received a courier pick up and a label by e-mail to allow me to return it within the necessary 14 days.
The service from DJI was remarkable and involved emails, phone calls and a final phone conversation telling me they were giving me a free gift in the package containing my new drone and checking that the return of my old drone and receipt of the new one was to my satisfaction.
The gift I received was only a pen but the thought behind it was impressive, nevertheless.
The confidence that has been instilled in me regarding DJI and their products is priceless from their perspective. I was most impressed and now trust this company and their products.
That is worth a lot and a great lesson for any business.
