3 employment disputes-fear and ignorance may determine the outcome

I am involved in three different employment disputes at the moment.

I represent the employee in two of them and the employer in one.

Two of the employees in these three disputes are wildly overvaluing the strength of their position.

And the employer is showing signs of being freaked out by the demand of one of the employees, notwithstanding that he is in a strong position and has nothing to worry about.

My biggest job here will be to ensure he maintains his position.

It is funny, though, that an inaccurate grasp of the strength or weakness of their respective position has a good chance of being the undoing of each of my clients.

All I can do is advise and explain. I do this, repeatedly.

Sometimes, though, it is a futile exercise.

Because often fear and ignorance will prevail.
