I published a video on my YouTube channel yesterday called “I bought this property at a Bid X1 auction” and it has been one of the most popular videos I have published in a long time.
There has been a tremendous number of views, comments and engagement.
It shows two things:
- Irish people have a fascination and enduring relationship with property
- The comments can be broken down into two broad categories: a) those wishing me well with the purchase and b) those with the chip on the shoulder
The chip on the shoulder crowd’s comments can be broken down into sub-categories including
- Greedy landlord
- Greedy solicitor
- Nobody should be entitled to own more than one house
- What about the housing shortage
- My family member needs to rent someplace and rents are too high
- That location is a kip
- Etc.
