I checked out a few YouTube channels yesterday which had been suggested in another video I watched as illustrative of the new style of vlogging which is all the rage on YouTube in 2024, and by inference, in 2025.
It is a style of vlogging with very little editing and features one individual speaking to the camera in two of the three examples.
One of them was so basic and so ‘authentic’ that he was not even putting descriptions on the videos when he uploaded them to YouTube. This is against the recommended advice from YouTube and the so-called experts but made no difference to the guy’s channel which has over 1 million subscribers.
The three channels I looked at were:
- Dry Creek Wrangler School
- Madeline Argy
- Sam Sulek
I am not entirely sure that the success of these channels is down to the absence of editing and the much-lauded authentic feel of the videos.
But I do have to admit they are pretty basic and are clearly getting the numbers in terms of views and subscribers.
