I picked up my new bicycle yesterday in Coynes Cycles, Kinnegad.
It is a Merida, Scultura 400 road bike.
I took it for a spin yesterday evening for the first time and it is a dream to ride, a real pleasure. The gears took a bit of figuring out at first but once I stumbled across how to operate them, I was flying.
And when I landed back home, I was stunned to discover that I had knocked 5 minutes of my trip time which usually takes 48 or 49 minutes.
The bike wasn’t cheap, but I see it as a good investment, not just in my leisure time but in my health.
Going home from work in the evening and going for a spin as part of a daily routine is easier when you are pedalling a well-balanced, light, comfortable, powerful bike.
