There are certain trials, usually criminal, which grab the public’s attention and which I am asked to comment on or cover on my YouTube channel.
The Richard Satchwell criminal trial, which has just started this week, is one such trial.
However, I doubt very much that I will cover it as it is expected to last for 4 weeks or thereabouts and I do not have the time or commitment for that. Also, I do not do criminal law so whatever benefit for my solicitor’s practice is not all that apparent, although I have obtained clients through the strangest, most tenuous unrelated connections.
The fascination of the public with true crime, however, is obvious and manifest and is reflected in the likes of Netflix and other providers of entertainment in 2025.
If I was simply chasing viewing numbers and YouTube ad revenue, however, I believe there is a solid opportunity there. Maybe it is something I could look at in the future when I have more time on my hands.
