If you were every considering buying shares as a medium to long term investment, and you should, then now is a good time to make a start. Or to increase your position.
Shares, over the course of 30 to 50 years, experience frequent price setbacks at regular intervals. And more significant downturns during times of recession, which occur on a less frequent basis.
But over the term of 30 to 50 years the price of a basket of shares rises inexorably as the underlying companies sell their goods and services and generate profits.
It is at times of setback that you will find the best value if you are considering getting into shares. Because you are buying the dip which is usually not a true reflect of the value of the share but a reaction to uncertainty over an external event.
Such as the moronic Trump tariffs.
This too will pass. Now is a good time to buy.
