Trump lies with such impunity and is so accustomed to not being held to account for his lies that this time, in relation to China, it was different.
Trump’s tariffs have proved, predictably, to be disastrous for international economies, the bond markets, the stock markets, and economic confidence generally that he had to lie that there were talks going on with China to ‘fix it’ and do a deal.
China did not go along, did not buy it, and simply stated that this was fake news as there are no talks going on. Even Trump’s Trade Secretary confirmed there were no talks.
Trump has bitten off more than he can chew with China and his disastrous tariffs. Expect an embarrassing climbdown-again-any time soon.
