Going racing for the first time in decades

I am going racing today for the first time in decades.

I am heading over to the Curragh to attend the 2,000 guineas meeting.

I used to go racing every weekend when I was a student and in my early 20s. But I drifted out of it when I started my own business and found myself working every Saturday.

This week, however, I made a video down the canal bank in Enfield on my lunch break. It was the first video I ever made which relates to horses, racing, and so forth.

And the response to it has been so positive and active that it brought back memories of being a racegoer decades ago.

Then a guy who follows my YouTube channel came across it and sent me an email offering complimentary tickets for today’s racing.

I declined the tickets as I had no intention of going and had other plans.

Then I thought about going and wondered what it would be like, decades later.

So, I am heading over to the Curragh later and will pay my own way in and see if a long-extinguished ember of interest can be rekindled.

I am actually looking forward to it, and to see if I can get a winner or two.

Here is the video I made about Aidan O’Brien, Coolmore, City of Troy, reputation, and all that good stuff.
