I never thought, a few years ago, that I would be reading openly, proudly racist comments online in 2024.
But that, my friends, is the unfortunate reality. All you must do to see for yourself is head over to Twitter.
There you will find individuals who see nothing wrong with being racist and making it known to the world with a certain sense of pride.
Yesterday I read a manifestly racist tweet by an individual who a few years ago ran for the Dail or in some other election, and who has a significant number of followers online.
It is sad and pathetic that it has come to this and is utterly depressing.
How such an individual, with the intellect of a radiator, is able to gather a crowd of like minded individuals around him is frightening.
